City Jobs

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 11, 2026

City Jobs (cityjobs.io and the City Jobs iOS app) is a job search site. This policy covers what we collect, what we do with it, and how to get it deleted. The short version: we collect the minimum a job board needs to work, we show no ads, we run no third-party trackers, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

Browsing is anonymous. You can search every listing, city, and guide on City Jobs without an account, and we set no tracking cookies while you do.

If you create an account, we store your email address, your password as a salted hash (never the password itself), and an optional name. Jobseeker accounts also store the jobs you save or pass on and any applications you submit, including the cover message you write. Employer accounts store a company name and the job listings posted.

Signing in sets one cookie (or one token in the app) that keeps you signed in. That is the only cookie we set.

Location, in the app

The iOS app can use your location to show jobs near you and to deal your daily hand from your area. Two things matter here: the app rounds your coordinates to roughly one kilometer before sending them, and our servers use them only to answer that search. We do not store your location, build location history, or share coordinates with anyone. Location is optional; everything works nationally without it.

Where listings come from, and where applications go

Most listings are pulled from employers' own public careers systems and the official federal USAJOBS feed. When you apply to one of those, you apply on the employer's own site, under the employer's privacy policy, and we receive nothing about that application. When you apply to a job posted directly on City Jobs, we pass your application to that employer, and they are responsible for how they handle it from there.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We show no ads, run no advertising pixels, and use nothing that tracks you across other websites. We do not ask for your Social Security number, date of birth, or bank details, and no legitimate employer should ask for those before an offer either.

Who processes data for us

City Jobs runs on Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database), both acting as infrastructure providers under their own security terms. They process data to run the service and for no other purpose.

How long we keep things

Job listings expire automatically when they leave the employer's own careers feed. Account data stays until you delete your account. Saved jobs in the iOS app live on your device and disappear when you delete the app.

Your rights: access, export, deletion

You can delete your account inside the iOS app (Account, then Delete account), which removes your account, saves, and applications from our systems. You can also email us for deletion, a copy of your data, or a correction, and we'll handle it within 30 days. If you're a California resident, these are the access, deletion, and no-sale rights the CCPA gives you; we honor the same rights for everyone, in every state.

Children

City Jobs is for people old enough to work and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes and contact

If our practices change, this page and its date change first. Questions or requests: support@cityjobs.io.
